Tiling
Tiling is one of the most important stages of renovation that requires precision, care, and professionalism. Here is the process for tiling walls or floors:
- Surface preparation: Before tiling, it is necessary to clean the surface from dust, dirt, old paint, or adhesive. If the surface is uneven, it should be leveled with putty or primer.
- Adhesive preparation: Depending on the type of tile and the surface it will be laid on, suitable adhesive is chosen. The adhesive should be uniform and ready to use.
- Tile laying: Before laying, marking is done to help maintain straight lines. The tile is laid on the adhesive, and spacers are used to align and maintain equal distance between the tiles. It is important to ensure the vertical and horizontal alignment of the tiles to prevent shifting.
- Grouting: After the adhesive has dried, the gaps between the tiles are filled with grout using a rubber trowel. Excess grout is removed with a damp sponge.
- Finishing the job: After grouting and drying, the surface can be wiped with a dry cloth or sponge to remove grout residue.
These are the main steps in tiling. It is important to note that slightly different technologies and materials may be used for each type of surface and tile, so it is important to consider the specific conditions of the renovation.
