Wallpapering

The wallpaper pasting technique may vary slightly depending on the type of wallpaper. However, in general, the process consists of the following steps:

  1. Surface preparation. The surface onto which the wallpaper will be hanged must be smooth, clean, and dry. If there is any paint on the surface, it should be removed. If the surface is uneven, it should be leveled with putty or primer. It is also necessary to protect the floor covering, moldings, and sockets from glue and wallpaper.
  2. Measuring and cutting the wallpaper. The height of the wall should be measured, and the wallpaper should be cut to the appropriate size with a 5-10 cm allowance at the top and the bottom of the wall. If the wallpaper has a pattern, one must ensure the pattern matches on both sheets.
  3. Preparing the glue. Depending on the type of wallpaper, different compositions can be used for the glue. Follow the instructions on the package to prepare the glue.
  4. Applying the glue. Glue to the wall evenly with a brush or roller, making sure to apply it to the edges and corners of the walls.
  5. Installing the wallpaper. The wallpaper hanged from top to bottom. The top part of the wallpaper on the wall and carefully unfold it downwards. The pattern and edges of the wallpaper with the corners of the wall and press it to the wall with a spatula or smoothing brush. The excess wallpaper at the top and bottom of the wall is cut off.
  6. Aligning and pushing out air bubbles. After the wallpaper is hanged, one must eliminate wrinkles and air bubbles. If there are any, align them with a spatula or smoothing brush. Also, push out any air bubbles that may be under the wallpaper.
  7. Cutting the wallpaper. If there is an obstacle on the wall, such as a socket, cut the wallpaper to the size of the socket, carefully align it, and stick it. We pay extra care not to create folds or unevenness.
