Decorative plaster

Decorative plaster, also known as Venetian plaster, is a type of wall finish that creates a smooth, shiny surface with a variety of shades and textures. This plastering technique involves the multi-layer application of a special compound mixture onto the wall surface, which is then polished to create a smooth and shiny surface.

Venetian plaster typically consists of a base material, which may be marble chips, lime putty, or other mixtures, the addition of pigments to create different shades, as well as impregnation and varnish to protect the surface and add extra shine.

The process of applying Venetian plaster includes the following steps:

  1. Surface preparation: The surface must be clean, dry, and smooth. If the surface has defects, they must be addressed before starting work.
  2. Application of base material: The base material is applied to the surface in several layers. Each layer must dry before the next layer is applied.
  3. Application of pigment: Pigment is added to the base material to create the desired shade.
  4. Application of impregnation: After the pigment has dried, an impregnation is applied to the surface to protect against stains and moisture.
  5. Sanding: The surface is sanded to create a smooth and shiny surface.
  6. Application of varnish: Varnish is added to provide extra shine and protection to the surface.

The result is a decorative surface with rich textures, various shades, and shine.
